Visa and Embassy Information

U.S. Citizens:

  • If your academic program in Chile is less than 90 days, you are not required to obtain a student visa.
  • If your academic program in Chile is more than 90 days, you are required to obtain a student visa.

Summer and Intensive Program students will enter the country on a tourist visa which students will get upon arrival to the airport in Santiago. The tourist visa is a stamp in your passport which is good for no more than 90 days. NOTE: A policy has been implemented between the U.S. and Chile, which has discontinued the $160 reciprocity fee.

Semester students should get their visa in the U.S. before departing for Chile. Veritas will provide you with some of the necessary documents to obtain the visa, but you will be responsible for obtaining a medical clearance from your doctor as well as a criminal background check to provide for the consulate. If you are having trouble getting the visa, or do not live near a consulate, please contact the Veritas office immediately!

Non-U.S. Citizens:

Please note that if you are not a U.S. citizen, you should contact your Consulate to verify specific entry requirements. As these requirements vary based on citizenship, non-U.S. citizens may not be permitted to travel to Chile without a visa or outside of their visa dates. Also, visa fees for non-U.S. citizens may differ so please be sure to check your specific consulate's website for the most up to date information.

Find your Consulate

Please note that you may be required to appear in person at the consulate in order to apply for the visa. Contact the consulate nearest you for the most specific and current information and to request a visa application. Once enrolled in the program, Veritas will provide more details regarding the visa process.

Your consular office is determined by your residence.  Please go to the following page to determine your consular office and find contact information.
