Open to students at all levels of Spanish, this program is an excellent option for those who want to advance their Spanish proficiency while also fulfilling liberal arts credit.

Students will enroll in the following:

  • Choose one language course
  • Choose one elective instructed in either in English or Spanish. 
  • Veritas International Missions Practicum for 1 US credit. optional
Electives that are taught in Spanish are typically only available to students at the advanced or high advanced level. Your courses will be taught by the faculty at the Universidad Veritas, and you will learn alongside fellow international students. 
 

Veritas Academics and Cultural Engagement

International Missions/Service Learning Practicum (1 credit Pass/Fail) optional

The practicum will enrich the program and mission experience through reflection assignments, research, and journaling. Participation is required in order to enhance the mission experience. Students will receive one credit upon completing the assignments and service participation. Students may elect to submit a log of hours for up to two additional credits. (Download syllabus here)

The ISA-Veritas Cross-Cultural Engagement Certificate has been designed to recognize the activities and achievements you complete on your program while encouraging professional and spiritual development. You will earn the Cross-Cultural Engagement Certificate upon completion of the following three badges: Leadership Badge, Cultural Explorer Badge, and Storyteller Badge. 
Students who earn the Cross-Cultural Engagement Certificate demonstrate...

Language Level Placement

All students will take placement exams once accepted into the program previous to departure to determine language proficiency level. Exam results may determine eligibility for course enrollment. Students who arrive having completed the following number of semesters/quarters of college-level Spanish, or the equivalent, typically place into the corresponding language level:

Summer 1 also offers Spanish for Health Professionals course which is available to students who are majoring in one of the following areas: pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, microbiology, and other health professions. 

*Students may also enroll in a back-to-back session for this term

  • One intensive Spanish language course at the Universidad Veritas
  • International Missions/Service Learning Practicum optional
