Summer 1, 2020: Charles University - History & Culture (Early June, 2020 - Mid July, 2020)

Through the "History & Culture" summer program at Charles University, students have the opportunity to choose from several of humanities-based courses. ISA works closely with faculty at Charles University to develop coursework exclusively designed for ISA students. Subjects offered include history, architecture, cinema, business and Czech language. Classes are held with ISA students only.

Gap students are also eligible for this program.

Students will enroll in the following:

  • International Missions/Service Learning Practicum (1 credit Pass/Fail - optional)
  • Up to 6 credits at Charles University 

Veritas Academics and Cultural Engagement

International Missions/Service Learning Practicum (1 credit Pass/Fail - optional)

The practicum will enrich the program and mission experience through reflection assignments, research, and journaling. Participation is required in order to enhance the mission experience. Students will receive one credit upon completing the assignments and service participation. Students may elect to submit a log of hours for up to two additional credits. (Download syllabus here)
NOTE: students who complete all requirements fof the Mission Practicum will automatically earn the Cultural Explorer badge (see below)

Summer 2, 2020: University of Economics Prague - International Business & Culture Studies (Early June, 2020 - Early July, 2020)

Through the International Business & Cultural Studies summer program at the University of Economics - Prague, students have the opportunity to choose from several business and culture-based courses. Subjects offered include business practicalities, marketing, history and culture.

All courses are instructed in English. The courses are taught by host university faculty (native Czech professors and business professionals) and are held in the UEP's newest addition to its campus in central Prague, a ten-minute walk to the ISA Prague office. Classmates are international students, the majority of whom are North American or European.

Students will enroll in the following:

  • International Missions/Service Learning Practicum (1 credit Pass/Fail - OPTIONAL)
  • 6 - 9 US semester credits at University of Economics Prague

Course Selection

  • Students choose 2-3 courses from the list below
  • Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.

Alternate Courses

  • Students are required to select 1-2 alternate courses in the event of top choices conflicting on the timetable, course cancellations, or registration issues

Course Credit & Transcript Information

  • Each course is 45 contact hours, worth 6 ECTS credits. Per the University of Economics, Prague (UEP), 6 ECTS credits represent 3 U.S. semester credits. Transcripts are issued in U.S. semester credit hours.
  • Credit transfer is ultimately determined by the student's home university.
