This module provides a novel, engaging and challenging introduction to the Sociology programme and to sociology as a whole. It will enable students to use their personal experience to gain an understanding of how sociologists think and conceptualise, and to relate these experiences not only to society at the national level but also to world society. Throughout the module, students will be introduced to a variety of core areas of sociological inquiry, including health and illness, ?race? and ethnicity, power and politics, crime and deviance, culture and communication.
