Overview

Assessment: group project [30%], essay (4000 words) [70%]
Since change affects all organisations most of the time and innovation is the ?last frontier? in the battle for sustainable competitive advantage, it is necessary that business students have the opportunity to explore both phenomena during the course of their academic study. This module examines what is meant by organisational change and explores the reasons why change happens. It investigates the nature of change and the ways of preparing organisations to embrace change and adopt change perspectives in their strategic and operational activities. The module also provides insight into the process of innovation, which is inseparable from change. It focuses on ways of encouraging and promoting strategic innovations in organisations and addresses the creation of organisational environments in which innovation can flourish.
