Overview

An introduction to the technology of theatre, including lighting, the operation of audio technology and stage management.

The Theatre Studies weekly Lunchtime Theatre programme provides students with a practical opportunity to participate in a theatre production as members of the technical and front-of-house crew.

Learning Outcomes: Students who successfully complete the subject will gain an appreciation of how to manage backstage tasks and roles in performance. Students will acquire practical skills in organising and fulfilling a range of technical and production tasks required for the staging of theatrical performances.

Course Structure: There will be two 3-hour practical workshops each week, plus additional time outside of class for rehearsals and performances
