Overview
This course provides a continuation of the management accounting teaching from Management Accounting 1. In particular to equip students with the ability to critically examine the suitability and effectiveness of management accounting approaches for a variety of management challenges.
Course Aims:
- Aid students to develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the theory, principles, concepts and techniques used in management accounting primarily to assist managers in running a more effective business; and,
- Equip students with the ability to critically examine the suitability and effectiveness of management accounting approaches for a variety of management challenges.
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Describe management accounting innovations and their impacts on business management and organizational practices.
2. Use of variety of financial and non-financial data for planning and decision-making purposes.
3. Apply cost management and performance measurement techniques to a variety of management situations.
4. Critically evaluate the behavioural and organizational implications of the use of management accounting.
