Overview
Drawing on John Beddington?s (Chief Scientific Adviser to HM Government) observation that global society is
facing a ?perfect storm? of intrinsically linked climate change, population growth, food security increasing
demands for energy and water, we ask the question ?What can Environmental Geographers meaningfully
contribute to these major emerging issues??. Our point of departure for this consideration is the recent
web-based mapping that has been undertaken to give spatial and temporal representation of the ?perfect
storm?.
