Overview

The aim of the module is to enable students to understand the role played by cultural theory in Film & Media
Studies. On completion of this module, students should be able to explain the significance of key cultural
theorists and understand how their work has informed the discipline. They should be able to transfer this
learning to their studies, identifying appropriate theoretical frameworks that might underpin their own
