This course seeks to extend and refine the writing skills students (would) have learned in their Academic Writing I. The course aims to advance students’ ability to write in a professional and academic manner, using a variety of styles and purposes, and paying attention to integrity, word choice, and grammar. Writing while using research, citation, and multiple drafts will be required and encouraged. Students will have occasion to work alone and with a partner(s). During the course, students will be expected, in particular, to focus on research in their writing, particularly with regards to finding and appropriately synthesizing and enhancing (with students’ own original ideas) other sources of information and use the APA citation style. Students will need to develop their skills of understanding the relevant picture painted by a variety of texts from different authors, and to draw new ideas based on this picture, in order to communicate.
