Overview

Introduction
This course is an introduction to the field of Solid Mechanics. We will treat the mechanics of rigid and deformable solid bodies in static equilibrium. This course will serve as a platform for further studies in the field of continuum mechanics, fracture mechanics, theory of plasticity, etc.

Course Objectives
Understanding the fundamental principles of mechanics
Application of these principles to rigid and deformable bodies in equilibrium
Construction of idealized models from actual physical situations
