Overview

Objectives
BS205 is the core marketing course for undergraduate students. The primary goals of the course are:

  • To understand the roles of marketing in companies and the economy system
  • To develop knowledge and analytical skills required to design successful marketing plans
  • To work effectively in groups
  • To increase written and oral communication skills


Course Format
The course will consist of lectures, case analysis and discussion, and group projects. Lectures will cover the major topics from the textbook as well as the contents not addressed in the textbook. Short marketing cases and video cases will be presented and discussed in class to provide better understanding of real-world marketing planning and execution. Students will from groups of about six students and develop a marketing plan of a product or service.
