Overview

Introduction
This course helps students to become familiar with a number of critical issues about Korean media. The topics to be examined include gender, collective memory, music, Korean wave, film, journalism, etc. Students will undertake group research projects and discuss their work in class.

Course Objectives
This class is designed for students who have little understanding of Korean culture. Domestic students are strongly discouraged from taking this class. I encourage domestic students to take advanced courses that offer morea in-depth understading of Korean culture and the media.
