Overview

Course Outline
This course will cover the fundamental properties and manufacturing processes of structural materials used in the construction of buildings/bridges with emphasis on cementitious materials. Also, a class will provide students with laboratory exercises consisting of basic standard material testing methods which are developed for the materials discussed in the class

Course Objective
At the end of this class students should:
1. understand properties of common construction materials
2. understand how the materials are manufactured and used in construction
3. be able to perform simple material tests required for quality control of construction materials
