Overview

Course Overview
This course aims to provide holistic and comprehensive coverage of the development and implementation of corporate, business, and functional strategies for firms in various manufacturing and service industries. Specifically, first it lays out foundations for corporate and business strategy development, including such topics as environment, capability and resource analyses, corporate vision, competitive strategy and priority, and operating business models, along with performance management and assessment. Then it delves further into details of operations and supply chain strategies, technology and innovation strategies, and procurement and supply management strategies. Finally, it examines a model of corporate growth path and required capabilities, resources and strategies in different stages. The course will lean heavily on active and constructive class discussions of critical strategic issues and challenges.

  • to develop a holistic understanding of critical issues and challenges in the development and implementation of corporate and business strategies and operating business models in manufacturing and service firms,
