Intensive Spanish Language

The Intensive Spanish Language program accommodates students with beginning and intermediate level Spanish proficiency. Students will take Spanish language courses in 3 separate modules, thus allowing them to progress to a higher level of Spanish at the end of each module. Courses are held at the University of Málaga's Center for Cursos de Español Para Extranjeros and are taught by host university faculty. Program participants will benefit from small class sizes. Classmates are international students, the majority of whom are North American. Courses are taught by host university faculty at the Universidad de Málaga.

Academic Credits

All students will need to work with Liberty University to get pre-approval for course transfer equivalency. This will vary from department to department and is up to the discretion of the academic advisor. For visa regulations, and according to Veritas Christian Study Abroad policy, students must maintain full-time enrollment status for the duration of the program as determined by their home institution.

Visa

Please note that a student visa is required for programs over 90 days. Please reference the Student Visa & Embassy pagefor more information. Applying for a visa could require out of state travel.


Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

  • There is no language prerequisite for this program.
  • If a student places into the advanced level or higher, the student may not be eligible for this program and may be required to enroll in the Spanish Language, Culture & Electives in English program.

Important Academic Information

  • Modular Program Structure
    The Málaga Intensive Spanish Language semester program is divided into three modules of Spanish language courses and allows students to potentially progress through three language levels in one semester.
  • Program Eligibility
    Because of the modular structure of this program, if a student places into the advanced level or above (4+ semesters/6+ quarters), the student may not be eligible for this program and may be required to enroll in the Málaga Hispanic Studies, Business & Spanish Language program.
  • Hours of Instruction
    Hours of instruction for each course listed below may vary depending on the student's language level progression throughout the program.
  • Course Credit
    The transcript from the Universidad de Malaga will reflect contact hours for each course listed below. Please be in touch with your U.S. university regarding transfer credit for this program.
