Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

 

ISA Veritas Course

All ISA Veritas semester students will take their traditional courses at the ISA host institution in addition to one 3-credit ISA Veritas course. Students will choose one of the two courses below. The Comparative Religions course will be online and include students from across ISA Veritas sites, and the International Missions/Service-Learning Practicum will be online/on-site. 
 
Comparative Religions (HUM 353)
This course is an introduction to the major religious traditions of the world—particularly Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—and indigenous, new, and secular religions. The historical development, key figures, as well as major doctrines and practices are explored.
 
International Missions/Service-Learning Practicum (HUM 490)
This course provides upper division service-learning credit for international missions projects, an extended missions experience designed to acquaint students with the implementation of missions principles in an international context through ISA Veritas Christian Study Abroad programs.

Course Availability

The course list below indicates the proposed courses for the upcoming semester. The host university has not yet confirmed the current course list at this time. This site will be updated once ISA receives the updated list of courses, along with a note notifying students of the change.

Language Level Recommendation

  • It is recommended that if you have not yet completed one semester/quarter of college-level Spanish or the equivalent elect to take a language course through the program.

Course Credit

  • Credits earned vary according to the policies of your home institution. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, you must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
  • Per the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, 1.25 ECTS credits is equivalent to 1 U.S. semester credits/ 2 quarter units, or 15 contact hours. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university.

  • ISA offers course level recommendations for the courses listed below. Please note that the course level recommendations are based on la Universitat Politècnica de València grado classifications of a 1, 2, 3 or 4, which correspond with the four year bachelor’s degree cycle. Courses classified as grado 1 and 2 are recommended as lower division. Courses classified as grado 3 and 4 are recommended as upper division. These ISA recommendations are intended to facilitate the determination of course equivalencies by advisors and credential evaluators at participants' U.S. home institutions.
