COURSE DESCRIPTION: The objective of this course is for students to learn how to deal with everyday situations in Spanish.

CONTENTS:
UNIT 1 ? HELLOS AND GOODBYES
Introducing one. Spelling words. Numbers.

UNIT 2 ? TIME AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
Giving and asking the time. Making a schedule. Professions.

NIT 3 ? DESCRIPTIONS
Talking about the family. Describing a person physically. Talking about personality.

UNIT 4 ? ON THE PHONE
Initiating a telephone conversation.

UNIT 5 ? HOW ARE YOU DOING?
Asking someone how he or she is feeling and expressing how one is feeling. Expressing pain.

UNIT 6 ? SHOPPING
Talking about clothing and how they fit someone. Asking for items in a store. Asking about the price. Talking about personal preferences.

UNIT 7 ? IN THE RESTAURANT
Ordering and asking for service in a restaurant. Talking about food.

UNIT 8 ? MY HOUSE
Describing a house. Talking about furniture and explaining what there is in each room. Talking about location. Writing informal letters.

UNIT 9 ? CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulating someone. Offering and receiving gifts. Talking about the seasons.

UNIT 10 ? THE MOVIES
Talking about movies and making plans. Giving and asking for advice.

UNIT 11 ? DO YOU WANT TO MAKE PLANS?
Making plans for a date. Making suggestions. Accepting and rejecting invitations.

ATTENDANCE:
Attendance to class is mandatory.

ADD/DROP:
Changes in language level can only be carried out during the first week of class. Likewise it will not be possible to drop a course once the second week of classes has begun.
