Ministry Opportunities

While abroad, students will be partnered with a Veritas Mentor who will help them get involved with ministry opportunities and connect them with a local church and the Christian community in Paris. Students will meet regularly with their Mentor for prayer, reflection, and spiritual accountability; the spiritual support and opportunities will make their time abroad transformational!

Ministry opportunities in Paris will expose students to international missions work in the context of a large urban environment within a global city like Paris. The mission mentor will serve as facilitator and connector in the ministry opportunities, which can include exposure to urban mission work, outreach to sub-Saharan African diaspora peoples, volunteer work with a non-denominational organization Serve-the-City, partnership with other mission organizations and current ministries, and ministry outreach through local churches.

Students can get exposure to mission work in an urban environment among national and diaspora populations, learn about and see the challenges of urban mission work, and explore what types of outreaches can be developed in an urban context. Students can engage in ministry opportunities that are directly linked with the mission mentor’s ministry in the city—visiting different areas of Paris with the goal of meeting and talking to sub-Saharan African diaspora peoples, establishing relationships, and creating gospel-sharing opportunities.

Students can volunteer with Serve the City, a non-denominational organization that looks to help those in need in Paris through food distribution, language classes, becoming friends with refugees, etc. There are also opportunities to learn about and join other mission organizations and their current ministries or join local churches in their ministry outreaches that occur throughout the week.
