Overview

Assessment: literature review on a selected topic (2000 words)

An opportunity to study the basis of modern neurobiology providing an insight into the most recent developments in the field, such as brain imaging or new theories of brain plasticity. The module also includes elements of the established and accepted concepts like those concerning neurotransmission. Brain ageing and age-related disorders such as Parkinson?s disease and Alzheimer?s disease are considered at depth. The module is designed to facilitate student understanding of current directions in brain research, both basic and applied.
