This module explores the impact of the internet in society and democracy. It compares how digital media are used in business, politics and civil society; and examines how the internet has driven change in cultures and social systems. The module presents a range of theoretical perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of the internet. It places these in the context of real world case studies and offers students opportunities to engage in related scenarios in the seminar setting.
