Maddie Townsend: Program Manager, Peru

Maddie grew up in Pennsylvania and earned her Bachelor of Philosophy degree in International and Area Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She first left her comfort zone to spend a summer conducting research in Argentina. Soon after, she studied abroad with ISA in Lima, Peru. Her favorite escapades in Peru included shadowing a famous photojournalist and holding a sloth. Maddie is a strong believer that international travel and intercultural immersion are the best ways to cultivate personal growth and understand diverse perspectives. Her passion for foreign languages, Latin America, and working with students led her to her current position at ISA. She enjoys playing soccer, volunteering, tap dancing, and going to the farmer's market in her free time.

ISA Veritas Cusco Team

Andy Osorio Mollenedo, Resident Director

Andy studied business administration at the Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in Lima. Born in Arequipa and raised in Cusco, Andy also lived in Arequipa and Lima for a few years, in Arequipa he worked in information technology, and Lima he worked in ISA Lima. Andy started working with ISA in 2009 and therefore has a total of nine years experience working with international students. He became resident director in 2011. He is passionate about helping ISA students have a wonderful experience abroad. In his free time, he likes to play basketball, soccer, watch TV and go to the movies.


Maria Barrera Sanchez, Academic Coordinator

Maria Barrera is a Spanish teacher native from Barcelona, Spain. She completed her Hispanic Studies at the University of Barcelona. After that, she received a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Salamanca. She has been teaching Spanish since 2011 and she has taught in Spain, India and now, Peru. When Maria is not teaching, she enjoys her time playing the guitar, reading poetry and travelling.


Vivian Obando Lipa, Student Services Coordinator

Vivian Obando Lipa studied hotel management at CENFOTUR institute. She has worked on cruise ships traveling to the USA, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Aruba, Panama, Colombia and Jamaica. Vivian previously worked in Australia. She is a very easygoing person who loves to travel, play sports, meet new people and learn things from others. Vivian also likes to listen and dance to music! In her free time, she is usually with friends or family just having fun and is most happy when outside in nature. Vivian likes to share the mystical city of Cusco with ISA students.
